Welcome to 4th Grade at Holy Spirit! We are looking forward to a year where curiosity, compassion, and academic excellence grow together. Guided by Catholic values, our students engage in hands-on learning across math, reading, science, and social studies while deepening their relationship with God through prayer, service, and community celebrations. We partner with families to nurture confident, caring students who think critically, lead with kindness, and are prepared for the joys and challenges ahead.
Ms. Sarah Butch
Ms. Sarah Butch grew up in Grand Haven, MI. She attended Grand Valley State University where she earned degrees in Elementary Education, Mathematics, and Spanish.
Prior to her time at Holy Spirit, she spent 15 years as a classroom teacher at Corpus Christi Catholic School in Holland, before moving to work at the University of Notre Dame. Ms. Butch loves being back in west Michigan and the joy of the classroom. She is looking forward to a great year in fourth grade~

Mrs. Lizzie Duffy
Mrs. Lizzie Duffy has been a teacher at Holy Spirit since 2015. Mrs. Duffy attended Holy Spirit School. She is a West Catholic graduate and attended Grand Valley State University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. Laker for a Lifetime! While at Grand Valley, Mrs. Duffy was blessed to have the opportunity to study abroad in the Netherlands, and while she was there, she taught in an international school.
Mrs. Duffy is married to a Holy Spirit and West Catholic graduate. She and her husband were married in November 2015. The two have a beautiful daughter named Ada and a son named Vincent. Mrs. Duffy enjoys reading, camping, hiking, and traveling. Her favorite place in Michigan is the Upper Peninsula. She is a big Notre Dame football fan. Let’s Go Irish!
Her favorite Bible story is Noah’s Ark and her favorite season during The Liturgical Year is Advent. God is Good! Here’s to another year filled with blessings!
